The EUFOG Doctoral Network selects its External Advisory Board

The Contested EU Foreign Policy in an Era of Geopolitics (EUFOG) Doctoral Network presents its External Advisory Board, selected in January 2025.

The External Advisory board is made up of four members:

Rosa Balfour is Director of Carnegie Europe. Her fields of expertise include European politics, institutions, and foreign and security policy. Her current research focuses on the relationship between domestic politics and Europe’s global role.

Jacint Jordana, President of IBEI and Professor at the UPF. He is also a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Barcelona City Council, Associate Researcher at the Sciences Po Center of European Studies and Comparative Politics, as well as member of the Board of Trustees of the Barcelona Centre for International Affairs (CIDOB). His research focuses on the analysis of comparative public policies from a multilevel perspective.

Anna Herranz Surralles is Associate Professor of International Relations at the Department of Political Science of Maastricht University. also visiting professor at the College of Europe (Natolin Campus); Co-editor of Journal of European Integration; member of the international advisory board of the International Spectator; and steering group member of the ECPR Energy Politics, Policy and Governance research network. Her research focuses on EU energy policy and global energy governance.

Andrea C. Bianculli is an Associate Professor at the Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (IBEI). Previously, she was an assistant Professor and Juan de la Cierva-Incorporación Fellow at IBEI, and held a Post-doctoral Fellowship at the Research College 'The Transformative Power of Europe', Freie Universität Berlin. She was also a researcher at the Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales/FLACSO-Argentina. Her research focuses on the interactions between governance, regulation, and development, from a comparative, regional and multilevel perspective, with a particular focus on Latin America and Europe.

They will all bring their expertise into the doctoral network, and will assist on management, training, research, dissemination and outreach issues.
